How to use the dice roller

Pick a die (d6 is a normal six-sided die, d20 the twenty-sided die used in Dungeons & Dragons), choose how many to roll and press Roll, or press the space bar. You can also type dice notation: 2d6 means two six-sided dice, 1d20+5 one twenty-sided die plus 5, and 3d8+1d6−2 mixes different dice.

Results come from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every face has exactly the same chance. Highest possible rolls are outlined in green, ones in red.

    Probabilities with two six-sided dice

With 2d6 there are 36 equally likely combinations. A total of 7 is the most common, which is why it matters so much in games like Monopoly, Catan and craps.
