Pick a letter for Scattergories, Categories or Stop, choose starting letters for a word game, or draw letters to practise the alphabet with children. Choose A–Z, only vowels, only consonants or type your own set of letters.

Drawing without returning

Tick “Draw without returning” and every letter that comes up is removed from the pool, so each round gets a new letter until all 26 are used. The page remembers the letters already drawn even if you refresh it; “Start again” clears the pool.

Is it really random?

Letters are picked with your browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so every letter has exactly the same chance. Nothing is sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pick a random letter?

Press Generate. To get several letters at once, set how many; tick “No repeats” if each letter may appear only once.

How do I avoid getting the same letter twice in a game?

Tick “Draw without returning”. Letters already drawn are left out of every next draw until the alphabet is used up.

Can I use only some letters?

Yes. Choose “Custom letters” and type the letters you want, for example the letters a child is learning.
