Random Name Picker & Wheel of Names

How to use the wheel of names

Type or paste the names, one per line (commas also work). Press Pick and the wheel spins and stops on the winner. To draw several people at once, set how many to pick – they are drawn without repeats.

Giveaways, classrooms and teams

Pick the winner of an Instagram or Facebook giveaway by pasting the commenters, choose who answers next in class, decide who goes first, or draw a Secret Santa order. Tick “Remove the winner from the wheel” to draw one prize after another without the same person winning twice.

Is the wheel fair?

The winner is chosen first with your browser's cryptographic random generator, and only then does the wheel spin to that name, so every name has exactly the same chance regardless of where it sits on the wheel. Your list stays in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pick a random name from a list?

Paste the names one per line and press Pick. The wheel spins and stops on a random name.

Can the same person win twice?

Not if you tick “Remove the winner from the wheel after each spin” – each winner is then deleted from the list.

How many names can I add?

As many as you like. With more than 80 names the slices get too thin for labels, but the draw works the same.
